Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in weight loss, food, and fun in Chicago. Please have a nice stay!

49 Week WLS Update

49 Week WLS Update

It's almost been a year! I can't believe that it's almost been one year since surgery! With the changing of the weather and some details surrounding my upcoming trip, I've felt the need to get back to a strong sense of self focus.

I feel like I originally started out this journey very focused on myself and my weight loss journey, but somewhere I lost sight of that and started to focus outside of the self: dating, hanging out with friends, etc. I'm an extrovert to the nth degree, so that makes sense, but I'm not the happiest with my progress. I wanted to be down 100 lbs from surgery weight at my "surgerversary" date. I'm not there. I'm not upset with my new body, but I know I would be there without distractions...and my FUPA. That thing is making keeping me a couple sizes higher than where I could be right now!

ALSO! Great news! I've officially hit 100 subscribers on my YouTube channel! Thank you all so much for watching and commenting on my journey! To celebrate, I'm giving away a Blender Ball bottle to one subscriber who comments on the video on YouTube by next Saturday, September 24! Exciting, right?!? I was never required to go to pre- or post-op support groups like some WLS patients, so I'm really grateful that the WLS community can be a source of tremendous support through social media!

Also, I'm still accepting donations for the St. Jude 5K that I'm doing next Saturday. Online donations are accepted for as little a $5. Please, if you can, consider donating to help fund childhood cancer research! You can check out my donation page by clicking HERE. I'm so close to $500 in donations! I'd love to get there for the kids!
