Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in weight loss, food, and fun in Chicago. Please have a nice stay!

4 Months Post Op

4 Months Post Op

It's been nearly 4 months since surgery. I'm still getting used to my relationship with food, my body, and dealing with the emotions of this journey.

I find it really interesting to navigate my interactions with my body, my emotions, and the rest of the world. In a way, it all feels very new. I don't think I can explain what is truly happening to anyone else. I can describe it. But it's becoming so personal. Like my walk on the edge of the beach last night. I can tell you about the patterns the snow cut into the sand and how the cool air from Lake Michigan kissed my face, but you didn't live it.

Maybe that's why my last few videos haven't been as light-hearted. Maybe there's a disconnect between talking about my life and the intimacy of being inside my body. I think I've had that feeling for most of my life. But, this is definitely still the best decision I've made for my life and my health. I'm excited to see what the next few months hold.
